We are looking for a
The job is:
* Start Date: 18/01/15
* Duration: 15 - 17 days.
* Location: Cape town
* Rig
Job Description:
Engine Room Operator shall monitor and maintain all engines and machinery involved in the rig's maritime operations.
Carry out maintenance work in accordance with current maintenance system.
Carry out daily checks and maintenance of the provisions refrigeration machinery.
Check the fluid levels in the BOP hydraulic unit and the hydraulic units for the pipehandling system daily.
Ensure that the engine, evaporator, compressor and boiler rooms are kept clean.
Participate in maintenance work relating to the deck and drilling sections, for instance pneumatic winches and components that can be dismounted and repaired.
Reports to Technical Section Leader.
Qualifications:
STCW Engine Officer's Certificate class 4 Documented relevant practice from offshore/ maritime operations.
Be familiar with the operation and maintenance of diesel units and pertaining equipment and systems.
Be familiar with the emergency operation of hydraulically operated valves and their maintenance
